ZPEB Yemen Subsidiary Performed Activities of Doing Ten Things

ZPEB Yemen subsidiary launched the activities for doing ten things during the Spring Festival, i.e., writing a pair of Spring Festival couplets, making a phone call to the family members, holding the dinner party on the Chinese New Year’s eve, eating dumplings on the first day of the Chinese New Year, performing some recreational and sports activities, organizing a training course on safety and public security, raising a rationalization proposal, reading a instructive book, learning a little bit of local language and making friends with local people, which have created a dense festival atmosphere. Among which, the activity of writing the Spring Festival couplets was performed in order to extol brilliant achievements with ink on the theme of keeping the homeland in mind, carrying out scientific development and building harmonious society, positively advertising and experiencing the traditional Chinese culture, from which 92 pairs of couplets were collected and more than 30 excellent ones were selected. On Feb 9^th 2010, the party of three people led by Liu Denglin, ambassador of Chinese Embassy in Yemen visited ZPEB Sana’a Office. They expressed their appreciation to the atmosphere of Chinese culture and the Lunar New Year in the Office through viewing of the advertizing showcase, photographs and the award-winning couplets, and said they felt as if they were at home in China. On the first day of the Chinese New Year, the subsidiary organized the staff to play chess and games and other recreational activities to liven up the cultural life of them. It also organized the staff at the base area to do the voluntary labor by digging up two vegetable plots during the Spring Festival days in order to get more fresh vegetables, which have alleviated the intense work pressure and offset the feeling of homesickness.
