ZPEB Surface Construction is mainly engaged in construction of oil/gas field surface facilities and long-distance pipeline, installation of refinery, petrochemical plant, telecommunication system, power transmission systems, manufacture and installation of pressured vessels within three classes, on-site assembling-welding of spherical tank, boiler installation, cleaning of pipeline and pressure vessel, and anti-corrosion and insulation of metal vessel and pipeline and so on. It has obtained ISO9002 Quality System Certification and ISO14001 Environment System Certification.

ZPEB Surface Construction has strong technical force and owns a vast number of varied and complete construction equipment and machines with advanced testing facilities. As for operation crews, many personnel hold EN 287-1 Senior Welder Certificates issued by EUC, German DVS Welder Trainer Certificates, American ASME Welder Certificates and the certificates for argon arc welding. The Quality Control System is strictly enforced during the operation.

ZPEB Surface Construction has taken part in not only various constructions for the development of Zhongyuan Oilfield and other oilfields, but also the national major construction projects such as Zhongyuan Ethylene Plant with annual output of 140,000 ton, Zhongyuan Refinery, Tuha-Wenmi united oil/gas gathering and transfer station, Tuha 1.2 million m3/day gas processing plant; Ku-shan oil transmission pipeline; Beijing compressed natural gas project, Yima coal methane pipeline project, gas transmission pipelines of Beijing - Shijiazhuang, Linyi - Puyang, Shijiazhuang - Handan, Jinan - Zhibo and Jinmen -Jinzhou, and the national biggest natural gas purifying and liquidating processing ( LNG project in short), and deep processing of light hydrocarbon. It has also stepped into the international market to undertake the projects of Qatar long-distance pipeline project and Sudan oilfield facilities and pipeline construction. Of all the construction projects which have been completed, over 70 items have been awarded prizes by authorities above provincial and ministerial level, of which the construction of the 1.2 million m3 and 0.5 million m3 Gas Processing Plant have been highly praised by the government leaders such as premier Zhu Rongji, and Vice Premier Wu Bangguo.
